Not only famous women, but many ordinary women, have had to make unusual efforts to succeed. These are the stories of just a few of these women.

 


Mary Scheibley is a woman of courage! Alison's grandmother, a single mom, raised five children on her own.

Alisha Penafiel: She played on the guys football team and was better than most of them. She took out a guy who was twice her size.


Stephanie Garner is a marverlous woman who exemplies faith, hope, and love. Her great independence and respect is a relfection of how she was raised by her parents in a military setting. Stehpanie Garner is a single mom, and with the help of her daughter, they are able to work   together as a team to live a happy and successful life.

This video that you are about to see is about my mother, Patricia Sandvig. Unlike many of her friends during the time, my mother was faced with the choice of whether or not she was ready to be a mother at the age of 19. Yet, when the time came, she knew exactly what she needed to do--that was to take care of her daughter and make sure that she could have the best life possible.

Eilo Boyce grew up playing a sport that isn't even imaginable for most young girls.  Rugby was a very popular for the boys in her neighborhood, but she was the only girl on the team.  She faced the hardships of playing a man's sport and has gained the respect of her peers, teammates and opponents.  She now plays on an all girls in Philidalphia.
