St. Anthony's

Foundation

This foundation has been  helping people who are less fortunate and can't afford to have a meal for more than 58 years.

They have moved on from being just a dining room. They now provide free health care, and cheap, affordable places to live, financial help, a place to learn, and help getting a job. They have a clothing shop where people can get food. Also, they have a place where people can pick up donated food.

At Carondelet, we go to St. Anthony's foundation as a Junior. We call this the Urban Plunge. We go on this trip with our fellow classmates and our religion teachers. Mrs. Carey, one of the many teachers at Carondelet, sets up this trip for the students because she believes it is good for students to have an experience outside the classroom. In the Junior year, they study Ethnics and Justice issues, the point is to see that the less fortunate are no different than we are. We are all humans and that we should treat them all with respect. This trip generally  knocks down walls of all the stereo-types that we have of all people. Not only is it a fun experience helping people, it is a good experience to  carry on for the rest of your life.
